Biografía: 

Cassiano is a PhD candidate in Philosophy and General Theory of Law at the University of São Paulo and Visiting Scholar at the International Institute of Sociology of Law (IISL).

He is a member of the Research Committee on Sociology of Law (RCSL), of the International Sociological Association (ISA), and affiliated researcher of the Centre of Anthropology of Law, University of São Paulo (NADIR-USP). He has also been a member of Order of Attorneys of Brazil since 2019.

His currently research discusses the contributions developed in the field of legal theory that have attempted to analyse law from a network perspective, as well as their criticisms. The project is funded by the Coordination of Superior Level Staff Improvement of the Ministry of Education, Brazil (CAPES).

Cassiano has several years of teaching experience at the University of São Paulo as an academic tutor for Sociology of Law (2020-2023) at the Faculty of Law.

He holds a Master of Laws degree in Public Law from the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) double degree from the University of São Paulo and from the Université Lumiére Lyon 2, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo. He also holds a diploma in Social Sciences and Humanities from Sciences-Po Paris, and in Public and Private International Law from the Hague Academy of International Law.

He was Counsellor of the Municipal Participatory Council of the City of São Paulo for the biennial term 2016-2017 and of the Independent Child Protection Board (2015-2017), director of the Legal Department XI de Agosto (2016-2017) and coordinator of the Migration Project (2015-2017).

His scholarship has focused on the study of socio-legal issues, covering a variety of topics such as indigenous rights, criminology, colonialism and development, using a range of methods including surveys, interviews, ethnographies and documentary research.
