Doing this research stay at Oñati was a very enriching experience. The grant offered by the IISL made it possible for me to disconnect and focus for ten days on my research project on public finance law and fiscal rules in Europe. It was important for me since this year I had less time to do research. I was able to take advantage of the Institute's library and its resources to carry on a paper I hope to submit soon.
My stay was also an opportunity to meet and talk with the invited professors of the socio-legal Master program, other visiting scholars from Spain, Argentina, Finland, or Canada, and the IISL’s students. It is always very nice to have a chat with other researchers from everywhere in the world, but it was particularly enjoyable in Oñati, at the library, at the Residencia, or in the town. I fell in love with this restful, lovely place in the heart of the Basque Country mountains, where you can enjoy the landscape, have a tour, or, thanks to the bonds of friendship that are quickly forged in the small community of the Institute, go out in the bars and restaurants!
