International Doctor Researcher and Assistant Professor Doctor of International Relations, East Asian Studies and Japan, with a research career of more than 12 years certified by ANECA with accreditation as a Professor Contracted Doctor (PCD). Obtaining a six-year period of living research.
His work has been motivated by the main objective of building bridges between Asia and Europe in general, and Spain and Japan in particular. This is in addition to my goal of promoting Spanish academia and positioning it at the centre of global discourse. Awarded the prestigious Japan Foundation Postdoctoral International Japanese Studies Fellowship for a 12-month research in Japan developing as principal investigator the project “Communication, Democracy and Policymaking in Japan: A Study on the Role of International Communication in Japanese Social Cohesion and in Government Social Support”, as a visiting researcher at the Graduate School of International Relations (GSIR), at the International University of Japan (IUJ). The total funded amounts to €48,200, being the most competitive and best-funded Japanese studies fellowship in the world. The researcher has been the only one in Spain to have received the fellowship in the years 2016/17. The Japan Foundation Fellowship is the Asian equivalent of the EU Marie Curie Fellowship and the US Fulbright Scholarship. This research involved conducting a nationwide survey in Japan, with a sample size of +3500, using a quantitative methodological approach and the advanced SPSS software as an analytical tool to identify the relationship between international communication and Japanese society. The field research was conducted at Osaka University’s Faculty of Law and Politics and Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP).
