Seven scholars from Denmark, Sweden, Scotland and the Netherlands are analyzing the topic of Access to Justice in Europe, both from a theoretical and a practical point of view, in a bilkura (academic meeting) being held at the Institute. From Monday, 6 May, to Friday, 11 May, these academics will have presentations and debates on the role of lawyers, social workers, volunteers and others in advocacy for access to justice; legal aid-contemporary challenges; access to justice across the life course and implications for the fairness of criminal justice processing; incarceration and beyond; access to justice and corruption; refugees and immigrants, and others.
The bilkura is being coordinated by professors Anette Storgaard and Bettina Lemann Kristiansen, from Aarhus University (Denmark).
