Maculan, Alessandro
Alessandro Maculan, PhD, is a research fellow in the Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Education and Applied Psychology (FISPPA) at the University of Padua. His research interests focus on prison staff in adult and juvenile correctional facilities, detention conditions, adaptation and forms of resistance in places of social exclusion, migrants’criminalization processes. In recent years published several articles in national and international journal. He is an adjunct professor in "Sociology of the community and the territory" (University of Padua) and "Sociology of international relation" (Fondazione UniverMantova). He collaborates with the master’s program in Critical Criminology and Social Security that is based at the Universities of Padua and Bologna. Member of the Association Antigone, he coordinates the Veneto Observatory on Detention Conditions.
